Quick Update: Chicago, Blog World Expo and the Podcast Awards
I just got back from a bachelor party in Las Vegas and no, we didn’t lose the groom and yes, I still have all of my teeth (that’s a reference from the movie, The Hangover, in case you didn’t know). I did win $800 and I also met Siegfried and Roy who tapped a keg at Hofbrauhaus to welcome in Oktoberfest.

As I rest and catch up on sleep today, I wanted to at least fill you in on some important updates on events that are coming up.
At the end of the month I’ll have the privilege of speaking at the Financial Blogger’s Conference in Chicago. On Friday, September 30th, my good friend Cliff Ravenscraft (from PodcastAnswerMan.com) and I will be hosting a casual meetup around the area to network and just meet and chit-chat with everyone who is interested.

As I mentioned earlier, I have a one-hour presentation at Blog World Expo this coming November, and I just found out exactly when I’ll be speaking.
My presentation is currently scheduled for Friday, November 4th from 1:45pm to 2:45pm PST, but please note that there is always the possibility of being moved to another time slot.
As you can see, the title of my presentation is How to Be Everywhere: Building a Profitable Brand by Thinking Outside the Blog. I will be going over how I use all of the external platforms outside of the SPI blog that have shaped the SPI as an overall brand to increase its reach, its authority and of course my overall income. I’ll also be touching on the aspect of transparency and honesty online in the blogging world, which I feel is extremely important, as you know.

To be honest, I never even heard of the awards, but I’ve recently learned that they are a HUGE deal in the podcasting world and last year attracted over 1,000,000 listeners to the voting page.
I’m absolutely flattered for all of the support and just wanted to thank you because the podcast is something I definitely put a lot of hard work into and am very proud of.
If you remember, it took me over 2 years to finally get the guts to do it, and now to be nominated for an award just blows my mind. Even if I don’t get an award, just to be nominated would be totally awesome.
